Hydrotherapy is the use of water as a treatment modality, and contrast hydrotherapy uses alternating hot and cold water. When used in this matter, it simulates a pumping action, helping to move blood and fluid from the lower part of the body.
This simple therapy can be done at home and used daily if needed.
What you’ll need:
– 2 large buckets, big enough to immerse your legs to just below the knee
– small kettle
Fill each bucket with very cold and very warm/hot water. Immerse your legs in the WARM bucket for 3 mins, and then dip into the COLD bucket for 1 min. Alternate a minimum of 3 times, ending on cold. Refill hot water as needed.
